It is UNICEF’s International Day of Families on 15 May 2016 and with another half-term looming on the horizon, this got us thinking about a few of our favourite family bolt-holes and ideas for things to do with the little ones…
1. Master the game of golf at The Grove
Host venue of the 2016 British Masters (and we’re not talking about a recent visit by our Prime Minister and US President) head to The Grove, London’s country estate for expert tuition and on-course lessons from a team of PGA pros. Whether you are a budding Tiger or a Happy Gilmore, here it is all about learning whilst playing and most importantly, having fun!
2. Be a Princess for the day at Brooklands
Who doesn’t like to feel special? Not anyone we know… and these cute spa experiences will have all young ladies feeling like royalty. Brooklands Hotel & Spa in Surrey offers the new Little Miss Beautiful range; a perfect selection of treatments every teenage girl will love! The “Miss n Mum” package lets you spend lots of time getting pampered together – a perfect way to get some mum n’ daughter time in.
3. Escape to the hills!
Set in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, take the family to Hilton Coylumbridge for a wide array of indoor and outdoor activities for all. The hotel is surrounded by some of Scotland’s most beautiful scenery. Local attractions include, The Strathspey Steam Railway and Highland Wildlife Park. With top-notch dining at their welcoming restaurants and bars, spa and beauty treatments at The Thai Lodge Spa, or lounging comfortably at their indoor pool, there’s something for everyone.

6. Look to the skies at The Aviator
Head to The Aviator and combine your trip with the 2016 Farnborough Airshow. Taking place every two years, the sheer number and variety of aircraft on display both on the ground and in the air makes the Farnborough International Airshow simply the best airshow around.
7. Music, movies and moonlight at Kew Gardens

This summer, the popular outdoor series ‘Kew the Music’ and ‘Kew The Movies’ return with outdoor performances against the beautiful backdrop of Kew Palace.
