Fonab Castle Hotel & Spa (also known as Port-na-Craig House) is a truly special, luxury five-star Scottish experience. Located on the wooded banks of Loch Faskally, Perthshire and just a short walk from the heart of the historic town of Pitlochry.
This four-storey mansion was originally built in 1892 in the Scots Baronial style for the Sandeman family, of Port & Sherry fame, to be their home. During World War I & II, the house was used as a British Red Cross auxiliary hospital (WWI) caring for wounded soldiers and occupied by school children who were sent from Glasgow to get away from the bombing (WWII).
The house was sold to Scottish Hydro in 1946 and then to the present owners, Jed & Joanne Clark in 2002. The first subsequent event to be held at the hotel was the wedding of their daughter Becky, with the hotel officially opening in July 2013.
Since opening in 2013, Fonab has become a popular destination to enjoy friendly, attentive service, breath-taking views, exquisite food and luxurious accommodation. Whether you are visiting for an overnight stay, time in the spa or a delicious meal in Sandemans… Fonab has something for everyone.
