We are like a little family here so wanted to let you know who everyone is and what they do at What I Really Wanted.
So we asked everyone to answer a few questions. Some answers are quite interesting…
Introducing Rod, our sales and marketing manager:
What did you want to be growing up?
A vet, but sadly that idea got put down.
What would you love to be doing?
Living in Barossa Valley and looking after a vineyard… maybe selling a few bottles too!
How would your partner describe you?
Irritatingly laid back, deaf… it’s a wonder she ever married me.
What ‘subtle hints’ will you be dropping to your friends, for your next birthday?
Oooh… I’d love to say I had a stack of ideas but the reality is I usually think of something the day after and then forget all about them so miss out on Christmas too!
What is the best present you have ever received and why?
A return ticket to anywhere in Europe with British Airways… from my Mum and Dad. It was a little while ago, but my wife and I chose somewhere we had never thought of going to. We picked Dubrovnik, Croatia and had a glorious two week trip to this amazing country. An experience I’d recommend to anyone!
What is the best present you have ever given; to who and why?
I am not very good at this, so it is hard to think of one particular present that hasn’t been returned to the shops or exchanged within days… I think a successful year was an iPad but I had been receiving a lot of hints!
Who is the easiest person to buy for, and why?
Me… not that I buy myself anything, of course. For anyone looking to purchase something for me, you can’t go wrong with something food related… from a bit of chocolate to dinner somewhere nice. I have been given a cooking class once which was a lot of fun.
Who is the hardest person to buy for, and why?
To me it feels like the entire world… I have to say though, since buying more ‘experience’ based gifts rather than specific items or material goods, my success rate has improved.
At least we all know now what to get Rod for Secret Santa at Christmas – food! And good to know that Rod’s success rate has improved now he is buying people ‘what they really want’ – a memorable experience that they can spend with people they love!
